Shoe Rafiki in Sequoia is still running strong. This is the latest collection of shoes waiting to be transported to the Phillipines from California.

At last some of our shoes have reached the Samburu. We are now going to do a funding drive to help build a playground. We need £1300 and will keep you posted as to how we are going to raise it.

Batch of shoes on flight to Nairobi on Monday

Volunteers are taking some shoes from St John Payne and St Francis schools in the bags on Monday. These will be delivered in Nairobi and then begin their journey north to the Samburu District.

Shoes from St John Payne, Chelmsford and St Francis to be shipped to Kenya

We are arranging the shipment of 150 pairs of shoes collected by children and young people from St John Payne in Chelmsford and St Francis school. Many of these shoes have letters attached and we hope they will be in Kenya in the next 2 weeks.

Re-launch Shoe Rafiki

Shoe Rafiki will be re-launching at St Francis school on 24th January 2011. We will be talking in assembly including some film of our latest shoe measuring.

Shoe Rafiki has also been initiated in California and they have an exchange programme with the Phillipines.

Making our feet bleat again

It is 10 months since we last made our feet bleat in November 2009. This year we want to make our bleat louder. Our last bleat bought food for 400 children for an entire term following one of Kenya’s worst drought.

A new Group called Mama Rafiki has launched which is a group of mothers who want to make a difference at Il Masin in Kenya. Look out for news, coming soon, on our next bleat and how to become involved in Mama Rafiki.
